Absolutely Maybe

Summary

Part I: Kissimmee

The book starts with an intro to Maybe's daily life. Consisting of school, friends, and dealing with hermom she seems to have a normal life until her mom announces that Jake proposed( Intrusion). He moves in and clutters up the already cramped apartment with his useless bowling trophies and beer.

Part II: Escape

After Jake tries to rape Maybe she goes to Ted's and they decide to go with Hollywood to California for 3 reasons. Maybe wants to find her dad. Hollywood wants to go to USC. And, Ted wants to explore his Thai culture. They all set out to escape Kissimmee  in Hollywood's car " The Green Hornet" And they embark upon a cross- country road trip to L.A.

Part III: L.A.

So when they arrive in L.A. the characters are sleeping in Hollywood's dorm room, until his roommate Ian shows up. Ted and Maybe start sleeping in student lounges until Maybe gets kicked out and Ted gets the job with Miss De La Tour and lives at her house. Eventually Maybe is living withSammy. She meets and works for Jess. and Hollywood's film puts their friendships on thin ice. However, Ted pulls them back together and everything is okay! A while later Maybe meets Gunnar and is extremely disappointed. Ted takes a DNA test and finds out that he's not actually Thai ,but Chinese and French. At this point everything is starting to fall into place

Part IV: Finale

 In the end Chessy comes to get Maybe. She breaks up with Jake. Chessy gets hired by Miss de la Tour. It is a bitter sweet goodbye party. Ted and Jess are both leaving, Maybe's leaving Sammy's, but ultimately it is a happy occasion where for the first time in a long time Chessy and Maybe aren't bickering or contradictory of each other.
